Metal AM Systems for Canadian Industry
We supply, integrate and support metal AM equipment, helping customers choose between wire-laser DED, WAAM and LPBF pathways.
Buying a metal AM machine is an application decision, not a catalogue choice. We help define the part families, materials, build envelope, post-processing and workflow before selecting a system.
Our role extends through installation, robotic integration, training, service and application support. Customers who are not ready to buy can start through our service bureau.
Headquartered in Lübeck, Germany and now part of Nikon, SLM Solutions (founded 2006) is a pioneer in laser powder bed fusion (selective laser melting). Its systems use multiple high-powered lasers to fuse fine metal powder layer by layer, excelling at intricate geometries and tight detail with excellent precision and repeatability. Multi-laser machines like the NXG XII 600 are built for high-productivity serial production across demanding fields such as aerospace, space, and medical.
MX3D
Our preferred partner for large-scale metal printing, MX3D is a Dutch pioneer that introduced robotic wire arc additive manufacturing (WAAM) to the world with its landmark 3D-printed steel bridge in 2015. Its robotic systems use an electric arc to deposit metal wire via an industrial arm, paired with its MetalXL control software, to produce fully dense, near-net-shape components — ideal for big structural and industrial parts, including pieces measured in meters, using standard welding wire.
Founded in 2019 and based in Linares, Spain, Meltio manufactures metal 3D printers built around its wire-laser metal deposition (W-LMD) technology, which melts metal wire with lasers. Its systems — the industrial M600 printer, plus the Meltio Engine integrations for robotic arms and CNC machines — are valued for their versatility, suited to building, adding features to, and repairing parts in materials such as stainless steel, titanium, Inconel, copper, and aluminum.
